Abdo Timejardine-Zomeño, born in Chicago, Illinois is an accomplished clarinetist, woodwind doubler, composer, conductor, and educator. His music has been performed by bands, orchestras, soloists, and chamber ensembles of all levels across the United States. 

With an active schedule, Abdo regularly performs with the Middle East Music Ensemble of the University of Chicago and has also performed with The Naperville Winds, Northshore Concert Band, South Loop Symphony Orchestra, and Chicago Philharmonic.

As a soloist and chamber musician, he’s had the opportunity to collaborate with clarinetists from across the United States, South America, Europe, and the Middle East. Notable performances have taken him to Denver, Colorado for the 50th Anniversary of the International Clarinet Association, Phoenix, Arizona for the first ever Low-Clarinet Festival, and Fort Worth, Texas where he performed in the 200th Anniversary Buffet Crampon Clarinet Choir. In March 2023, he had the opportunity to play for renowned clarinetist, Julian Bliss, in a masterclass during his residency for the consortium premiere of John Mackey’s clarinet concerto, Divine Mischief. 

As a composer, his works have been performed by soloists and ensembles across the United States, Spain, and Mexico, including at prestigious conferences such as the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest, the California All State Music Education Conference, and the Nebraska All State Bandmasters Association Convention. He is frequently invited to give clinics, workshops, and masterclasses to clarinetists of all levels and ensembles across the Chicagoland area and the United States. He is also one of the co-founders of the New Horizons Collective, a group of emerging composers based across the United States. This group was co-founded with composer Seferina Baca.

Abdo’s primary mentors in composition include Dr. Marc Mellits, Dr. Jennifer Jolley, Wanees Zarour, Jim Stephenson, Dr. Alan Theisen, and Dr. Shawn Okpebholo. He received his Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Illinois Chicago and is finishing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. At the University of Illinois Chicago, he studied clarinet with Nicholas J. Carlson, principal clarinet of the Lake County Symphony Orchestra, as well as conducting with Dr. Serena Weren, Director of Bands.

His professional affiliations and memberships include the International Clarinet Association, European Clarinet Association, New Music Chicago, Illinois Music Education Association, Texas Music Educators Association, World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, and ASCAP. 
Outside of his professional obligations, Abdo can be found traveling to new destinations, gaming, go-karting, partner dancing, and discovering new podcasts. He also spends significant time in Valencia, Spain.
